House for an Art Lover Wedding

Wedding Photography at House for an Art Lover, Scotland

Set amidst the scenic surroundings of Bellahouston Park, House For An Art Lover is a unique wedding venue located in Glasgow, Scotland. This stylish setting takes its inspiration from the architectural designs of leading Art Nouveau artist and architecture Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Developed from original designs dating back to 1901, this distinctive space offers sleek interiors bursting with tasteful pops of colour. From the private sculpted garden to the expanses of the 169-acre park, this is an ideal setting for those with a taste for fine aesthetics and picture-worthy backdrops.

Planning your wedding at House for An Art Lover?

This venue was a first for me, and crikey, what a venue it was! I loved my little road trip up to Glasgow to photograph this wedding. Grab a brew, and carry on reading all about weddings at this incredible Scottish venue!

We are supposed to have favourites in this industry, but I think autumn weddings are definitely my favourite. There is so much colour about and sometimes the sun makes an appearance too!

House for an Art lover is the perfect blend between architecture and art. The soft light streaming through the large windows highlighted the rich autumn colors outside, creating a beautiful backdrop for any occasion.

A perfect space for wedding ceremonies/receptions

This particular wedding has a very special place in my heart - Maria & Alex are friends I’ve known for years. I worked with Maria a long time ago and I was so honoured to be asked to document their wedding day.

Although these two had a lovely church service at St Joseph’s RC church first, House for an Art Lover is perfect for your specific needs.

At the venue, they have a few rooms available depending on your guest list size / plans. The venue can be exclusive use which is great for utilising the grounds for those all important photos! The Mackintosh Suite, which contains three signature spaces. The Music Room offers an extravagant setting of vibrant colors and a terrace overlooking the parkland. Here, couples can choose between two layouts to accommodate up to 80 guests for a wedding meal. The room can also be used for a ceremony of as many 120. Nearby, the Main Hall/Dining Room is a combined space with a maximum capacity of 120 for a seated dining experience.

After the formal parts are all done and dusted, it’s time to get the party started! For the evening reception, the Art Lover's Bar is an ample dynamic space for 150 guests, featuring a dancefloor, lounge bar, and staging area.

It was time for a quick dress change, and then a ceilidh band to kickstart their evening celebrations. It went down a treat!
