Georgie & Bruce’s wedding at the charming Healey Barn in Northumberland was a day full of love, laughter, and rustic elegance. With its warm wooden beams, open spaces, and inviting atmosphere, Healey Barn provided the perfect backdrop for a couple who wanted their day to feel relaxed, personal, and full of character.

From Summer Adventures to Forever
Georgie and Bruce’s story began 10 years ago in July, on a holiday in Kos, Greece. Georgie, 18 at the time, was on her first girls’ holiday at a classic Inbetweeners-style hotel when she met a group of Scottish lads, including Bruce, who convinced everyone they were part of the Scottish rugby team. They spent the week laughing, exploring, and enjoying each other’s company, and promised to keep in touch after returning home.
A few months later, Georgie travelled up to Scotland to visit Bruce, and their relationship began to blossom, from the Scottish Borders to Keele, where Georgie was studying. They navigated long-distance for five years until Bruce moved down to Nottingham during Covid. The couple bought their first home together, and three years later, Bruce proposed- romantically on a beach in Wales, in the rain!
The Wedding Planning Journey
When it came to choosing a venue, Georgie and Bruce wanted something fair for both families, so they settled on the Newcastle area. On a whim, they attended an open day at Healey Barn and instantly fell in love. The rustic charm of the barn was perfect for the relaxed and heartfelt day they envisioned, and Bruce was particularly impressed by the gluten-free pizzas, calling them the best he’s ever had- a definite winner in his book!
Their wedding style is fairly rustic, keeping things natural and personal rather than themed. While the smaller details, like favours and gifts, were fun to plan, they found the bigger decisions a little stressful- but ultimately worth it for a day that felt completely them.

Georgie & Bruce’s wedding day was filled with personal touches that reflected their journey together- from heartfelt vows to laughter shared with family and friends. Every moment, from the ceremony to the reception, had a warm, authentic feeling that perfectly captured their love story.
