This brand new venue Lancashire wedding venue has just opened up about 3 miles from my house, what a treat! In the summer I had the privilege of photographing a wedding here for Simon & Abbie. Carry on reading below!
The Hawthorns, Wedding Venue in Blackrod Lancashire
“The Hawthorns is situated on the beautiful Douglas Valley Golf course, located in the quiet village of Blackrod, west of the West Pennine Moors. From our stunning garden and terraces, we are very lucky to have some of the best views overlooking Winter Hill, a beautiful and well-known landmark in Lancashire.
Our stunning venue is ideal for weddings and events due to having the perfect layout.
The Hawthorns has two suites to offer to all our guests, The ‘Hedgerow Suite” is ideal for welcoming guests with drinks, canapés and a space to relax. Our second suite, The “Blossom Suite” comfortably seats 120-day guests and up to 180 in the evening. The Blossom suite is very elegant and beautifully decorated, perfect to match any colour scheme you may choose for your special day.”
The Hawthorns really takes pride in being an exclusive-use wedding venue. The team are great and will make you feel incredibly welcome. The venue will feel exclusively yours - having full use of their well-kept garden and patio areas. Perfect for those light summer evenings! This is definitely true because the wedding I photographed here was perfect for the couple and how they wanted to use the venue!

The most amazing summer day back in June capturing this incredible party at The Hawthorns in Lancashire. The happy couple tied the knot in an intimate and family filled ceremony the local church (St John’s, Wingates) before getting in their vintage car to head to the reception space. The whole wedding celebration was fantastic and such a great feel to the whole event. Thank you again for allowing me to document it all.
