Stormy Summer Wedding at The Castlefield Rooms | Nicki & Tom
The Castlefield Rooms Wedding Photography - Nicki and Tom
Meet Nicki and Tom, university sweethearts and absolute legends! I was lucky enough to be their wedding photographer for their wedding at the wonderful Castlefield Rooms. Guys, what a day we had! I joined Nicki at the Hilton as she was getting ready (and enjoying a delicious looking brunch!) She was full of smiles and so chilled out, the two of them had already told me their only theme for the day was a ‘bit of a party’ and you could tell from the giggles and atmosphere as they were getting ready that the girls couldn’t wait to get to the ceremony and start celebrating! I absolutely adored Nicki’s wedding dress, so stunning and she grabbed an absolute bargain here! Her dress was from Monsoon and cost a whopping £25!
Wedding at the Castlefield Rooms
Arriving at Dukes92 for his wedding reception must’ve felt pretty strange for Tom. He used to work there so has really come full circle! He laughed off all the requests for him to get behind the bar and pull a few pints. I don’t blame him, no one wants to work on their wedding day! As we all arrived in Castlefield the heavens opened and Manchester greeted the newly weds with a rather epic downpour. It didn’t dampen the spirits though (I don’t think anything would get in the way of these two having the best day ever) and everyone made the most of the bar while we waited for the rain to ease off.
The Brindley Rooms, one of the Castlefield Rooms beautiful spaces, is a great place for a wedding reception. With views over the canal, big windows and white walls it’s a photographer’s dream while the fact that it’s a real ‘blank canvas’ makes it perfect for couples wanting to put their own stamp on the day.
Castlefield wedding portraits
Following some hilarious speeches I checked on the weather. We were having a typical Manchester summer day! The rain had stopped, the sky was clear and I knew it was time to grab Nicki and Tom so we could head out to get some portraits. The area around the Castlefield Rooms is amazing for urban wedding portraits. The brick walls, the canal, the battered wooden doors…I could spend hours there! We didn’t have hours though, these guys had a party to get back to, but we definitely made the most of our time exploring Castlefield. Nicki and Tom are so comfortable together and it really shows through in their pictures. I loved spending time with them both and have got some of my favourite wedding portraits of the year so far!
