Oh Me, Oh My wedding - Jess and Matt
This blog is going to take you right back to summer 2021. Bright sunshine and blue skies. You can’t beat Liverpool on a beautiful summer’s day.
Jess and Matt had planned an incredible city centre wedding. They held their ceremony in the iconic Liver Building before heading over to Oh Me Oh My for their reception.
Liver Building Wedding Ceremony
There is no building more synonymous with Liverpool than the Royal Liver Building. Legend has it that the Liver birds protect the city (Bella looks out to sea protecting the sailors whilst Bertie faces the city watching over the families left behind) and if they were to “leave” then Liverpool would cease to exist! Thankfully they still seem to be happily hanging out up there on the roof! Ha!
Set in the heart of Liverpool’s waterfront the Liver Building is of great historic and cultural importance to the city and is a well known landmark. The ceremony room is filled with natural light and tall windows offer panoramic views over the city and the water.
After a lovely ceremony Jess and Matt headed out into the sunshine where they were greeted by clouds of colourful confetti which their cheering guests flung over them. Then, to the delight of everyone there, one of Matt’s groomsmen appeared with a tray full of ice creams!
Wedding reception at Oh Me Oh My
As their guests strolled over to Oh Me Oh My Jess, Matt and I hung around at the Liver Building for a few photographs before we set off to join everyone.
Oh Me Oh My is a set in an old bank in the centre of Liverpool. It’s equally elegant, spacious and yet cosy. The perfect spot for a wedding party. Matt and Jess had decorated the room with colourful flowers, an epic naked cake and the best cake topper I’ve ever seen (“f**king finally!” Hell yeah!)
I’m going to use this part of my blog post to say, “Brides, stand up and give a speech!” Jess absolutely nailed her speech and I always love it when brides have their say. They always tell me it’s not as nerve wracking as they thought it would be too. Do it! You won’t regret it, I promise!
Golden hour wedding portraits
The best thing about summer weddings - well, one of the best things - GOLDEN HOUR! As the sun began to set Jess, Matt and I nipped out onto Liverpool’s streets for some portraits. It was also a chance for a well deserved breather for the couple too! We couldn’t miss the chance for some photos up on Oh Me Oh My’s rooftop terrace too, look at that view of the Liver Building!
