Heaton House Farm Wedding Photography | Lucy & Eli
Heaton House Farm wedding photography - Lucy and Elijah
This was my second visit to Heaton House Farm, a great venue set in the Cheshire hills with amazing views back over Cheshire in one direction and out towards the Peak District in another. Lucy and Eli were having a fusion wedding (well, kind of…). They’d met in America at summer camp. Eli was the team leader and Lucy was activities manager. They spent the summer together, fell in love, got engaged and decided to have their wedding back in the UK as one last huge celebration for their families before they headed off to start their life together in America.
Fusion wedding at Heaton House Farm
I loved how their wedding was a huge mix of both British and American traditions. Their wedding breakfast was the best of both worlds. Yep, you guessed it, there was a stall with dirty fries and burgers while the British side was represented by a good old roast dinner. Love it!
Whilst we’re talking about food, take a look at those cake toppers. There’s a story to them, as I’m sure you’ve guessed. Eli is a tall guy. A very tall guy. And, according to his summer camp buddies he is rather hairy. So was nicknamed Bear. Whereas Lucy was known for never getting a tan, regardless of how hot and sunny it was. Hence the nickname Casper.
Heaton House Farm wedding portraits
One of my favourite things about Heaton House Farm is that there is space for the groom to get ready there as well. This means I could hop between both of them in the morning and capture the action on both sides. It also made for an easy trip to the ceremony for both Eli and Lucy, they just had to step outside the door. A quick stroll down the corridor and they were ready to get married by the vicar from Lucy’s childhood church who had graciously come along to conduct a civil ceremony at the Farm for them.
As an additional bonus later on that evening we were incredibly blessed with a beautiful golden hour. The three of us legged it outside and took these gorgeous portraits of the two of them together. What an end to the formalities before the party took over!
