Stylish Wedding at Mitton Hall | Emma & Jason

Stylish wedding at Mitton Hall - Emma and Jason

From the moment I stepped into Emma’s kitchen I knew we were going to be in for a good day, her ceiling was covered, and I mean covered in white balloons. I walked into the lounge and…yep, more balloons! White balloons on the ceiling and huge silver balloons spelling out BRIDE were hanging against the wall. The huge bottle of fizz was popped, the music was blasting out…this group were going all out for the celebrations!

As Emma was getting into her stunning wedding dress - I couldn’t resist taking some detail shots of the incredible lace and embroidery - an excited scream went up from the bridesmaids. A huge silver stretch Hummer had turned up to ferry them all to Mitton Hall! Emma was going to make an entrance that was for sure!

Mitton Hall weddings

Over at Mitton Hall Jason and his groomsmen had arrived in a white stretch Audi. After a moment or two adjusting ties and greeting guests he made his way into the conservatory (also known as “The Party Room”) at Mitton Hall where the ceremony was taking place. I love this room, with huge windows and a large skylight, it is filled with natural light. Plus the views out over the Ribble Valley are breathtaking.

Mitton Hall is a bit of a home from home for me. I photograph so many weddings there each year but I still love it. Now I know it so well I’m able to get really creative with my shots. Whenever I’m there I’m always trying out new things and aiming to get photographs I’ve never got before. I know some photographers complain that shooting somewhere a lot makes them stale and stifles their creativity, not me! It just fuels me and gives me an extra kick up the bum to be artistic and original.

If you’ve not heard of Mitton Hall before then where have you been?! This place is awesome. It’s a country house hotel right in the heart of the gorgeous Ribble Valley. The wedding team here are super good. Always at the top of their game and they can’t do enough for their couples. The Hall mixes historical architecture with elegant, contemporary styling. I love the main hall with it’s huge fire (always roaring away during the winter) and impressive chandelier. The terrace and gardens are perfect in spring and summer. They overlook the River Ribble and those amazing Lancashire hills. It’s the perfect spot for a drinks reception.

Wedding Receptions at Mitton Hall, Lancashire Wedding Venue

The front of the Hall is so impressive, with an imposing stone entrance and sweeping driveway. Straight after Emma and Jason’s wedding ceremony everyone made their way out there so the newly married couple could make a grand entrance (and be pelted by confetti of course!) After that it was drinks on the terrace whilst I whisked Emma and Jason away for a stroll around the gardens and a few photographs.

Following some hilarious (and a tad emotional) speeches it was time to head back to the Party Room which had been transformed into, well, a party space! Emma and Jason took to the dancefloor for their first dance before being joined by everyone else. What a night!

If you’re planning a wedding at Mitton Hall then congratulations! You’re in for a treat, it’s an incredible venue and as you can probably tell I love working there. If you’d like to chat about your wedding photography then get in touch, here.
