A Quirky and Alternative Manchester Wedding Venue
Victoria Warehouse - Alternative wedding venue.
Well, its safe to say that I just LOVE Victoria Warehouse as a wedding venue. Dionne & Curtis were planning their wedding at this particular venue and I couldn’t have been anymore excited. Wedding photography at Victoria Warehouse is not to be overlooked, there are spots for your photos at every turn! The venue describes itself as ‘unconventional’, and it couldn’t be more spot on.
Victoria Warehouse is at the heart of Manchester Centre, surrounded by urban backdrops and right by the Bridgewater Canal. This place holds so much history of the industrial era and has been slightly modernised to be able to hold weddings here, most of its old features are still very much intact. Don’t get me wrong, this wedding venue isn’t for everyone and probably deters most couples, but I think THAT exact reason is what makes Victoria Warehouse.
Industrial style ceremony room
The original features I was talking about earlier are the large opens rooms, huge steel columns, the old cotton sheds next door, and tiny windows! As we’re on the topic of the tiny windows, Victoria Warehouse is incredibly dark and difficult to photograph, but done right then it makes for some truly wonderful photos.
An easy to fix to this dark room is fairy lights, fairly lights, and more fairy lights! Did I already mention illuminating the room with fairy lights?! If they aren’t your thing then you can style the ceremony room with candles. Thats exactly what Dionne & Curtis did! I was so excited when Dionne told me that Qube Events would be their venue dresser!
Their ceremony was extremely intimate, lit by candlelight and very emotional! The entire front row had tears in their eyes and tissues at the ready (photo below!).
Your wedding photos
If you’re struggling to find inspiration for your wedding photos at this super quirky wedding venue, then fear no more! As photographers, we see photos in the weirdest places, but it works! Dionne & Curtis wanted to utilise the industrial surroundings at this venue, and thats exactly what we did, but you’ll have to take a peek at the photos to know what I’m talking about! (hint hint, the BRIGHT blue shipping container!).
