Summer Wedding Photography at Holdsworth House | Harrah & Neej

With Christmas just around the corner and wedding season coming to a close, I thought I’d take some time to reminisce about the warmer days, the gorgeous golden hour light as the sun sets, and most importantly - the days where I didn’t have to worry about taking my big coat! There’s plenty of photos to see here, from gorgeous light during couples portraits, to hilarious guest reactions and some epic moves on the dance floor - Scroll down for more!

Bridal Prep

Whilst I do shoot plenty of my own weddings throughout the year, it’s always nice to go and help out where I can. So I suppose this is the point where I give full credit to a good friend and fellow photographer, Rob, who asked me to join him to help out for Harrah & Neej’s wedding day at Holdsworth House. The bridal prep room can be quite dark, but still a lovely room for the bride to get ready for her big day! With that in mind, there is only one window in the room that lets in the natural light - So I didn’t want to stand on Rob’s toes. Now, as a second shooter I would usually go and photograph the Groom prep, but this wasn’t for Neej (which is totally fine!). Instead I went and got some detail shots for the day ahead!

Intimate Wedding Ceremony

Holdsworth House is a really historic wedding venue, and has two possible locations for a ceremony there. You can either choose to have the ceremony outside in the stunning courtyard or in their intimate ceremony room. Harrah & Neej opted to play it safe as August weather in Britain can be so unpredictable! The weather on the day was absolutely stunning, and we even managed to get out for some couples portraits in the evening light when the sun went down!

Their wedding was extremely intimate, surrounded by their closest family and friends and there were smiles all round!

Holdsworth House Wedding Venue

What a gorgeous place to host a wedding! Holdsworth is a Jacobean Manor House that dates back to 1633. A place of true history and there’s so much character at every turn. The walls of this Manor House are covered in some really beautiful photos, it shows the development of the building sine the 1600’s, the various owners over the years, and let’s not forget the beautiful gardens and courtyard that are located within the grounds also. If you’re a true history geek then you’ll be right at home when visiting this wedding venue!

So, if you’ve read this far - then what are you waiting for? Go and see some lovely images from this wedding day below!
