Winter Wedding at Mitton Hall - Ella and Matt

I can’t think of a more perfect spot for a winter wedding than Mitton Hall. Cosy fireplaces, epic landscapes, an entrance hall that’s just made for snuggling up in. Sounds perfect! Oh, and a Christmas tree. I do love a Christmas tree!

I’ve shot a lot of weddings, and safe to say there is always a guest or two popping into bridal prep to say hi to the bride. This is the first time those guests were of the hooved variety! Scroll down to see who came to wish Ella well on her wedding morning!

Planning a Winter wedding

Mitton Hall is split into two parts, the original Hall itself and a beautiful atrium that is always full of light and has views over the stunning Ribble Valley. Ella and Matt’s theme for their day was classy, warm and cosy with Christmas glitz. And oh they really did bring the glitz! Wherever you looked there was a touch of sparkle. Well, if you’re getting married in the middle of December you need to embrace the festive vibes!

When planning a winter wedding one of my top tips is to have an early ceremony. That way there’s still enough daylight afterwards to get outside and make the most of your venue. As well as a chance to get photos in the light! Ella and Matt opted for a 12pm wedding ceremony which left them with lots of time to spend with their guests as well as chance for us to get some portraits of the two of them in Mitton’s grounds.

They exited church to a Farmers guard of honour. A first for me! It was starting to drizzle so we did a quick dash through the confetti and headed to the warmth of Mitton. Once the rain had eased off the three of us went for a wander around Mitton. There are so many places to explore there, I love it! We also had a few ‘after dark’ photos in front of the huge Christmas tree. It had to be done!

Wedding party at Mitton Hall

One of my favourite things about Mitton is that the party is always epic! Couples who book there just love to entertain and Ella and Matt were no exception. They took to the floor for their first dance and were soon waving everyone to join them. Within seconds the dancefloor was packed and everyone was ready to dance the night away. There were some amazing shapes being thrown! If you’re planning a Mitton Hall wedding then drop me a line. I’d love to hear from you!
